A program of University of Missouri Extension and the University of
Missouri-Kansas City Institute for Human Development
University of Missouri-Kansas City
Institute for Human Development, UCEDD
Alianzas staff travels to each of the eight University of Missouri Extension regions to meet with faculty and staff and draw attention to the demographic changes that have occurred, and continue to occur, throughout Missouri; promote Hispanic/Latino cultural awareness and sensitivity; and encourage partnerships with Alianzas to facilitate Hispanic/Latino community development.
As a result, University of Missouri Extension and its campus partners will be afforded the opportunity to learn about current issues, best practices, and cultural information regarding the Hispanic/Latino population; enhance existing programs and/or more easily develop new programs for broader audiences and apply them to research purposes; and identify not only the challenges that both Missouri's Hispanic/Latino communities and stakeholders encounter, but also the means necessary to accommodate them.
Other Alianzas presentations include:
The Faces of Change in Your Communities, June 2007
Interviewing Hispanic Residents, July 2006
Quiz about Immigrants and Immigration to the U.S., Nov 2005
Mental Health and the Migrant (in Spanish), March 2005
